Have you ever paused to consider how you think about your business?

Does your mind get stuck in negative patterns, focusing on the struggle or the challenges that stand between you and your dream? Or are you able to create a mentality of abundance that leads to ever-increasing growth?

I succeeded in building a high-performance network marketing business because of the positive mindset I apply to my business - and now, I help my team by working with them to focus on their desires and achieve abundance. Today I’m excited to be sharing my story and some strategies with you!

The Power of Education

I’ve always taken a holistic approach in my life, so it was a natural fit for me to pursue a career that mirrored this value - first in social work, and later in hypnotherapy and hypnobirthing. Along the way, I learned about my company’s products. While I was interested, I didn’t have the money to afford it at the time, so I tried to create my own version using less expensive versions, but was dissatisfied with the results.

A few years later, I had a little more flexibility in my budget so I decided it was time to try the real version of this product I’d heard so much about. I was still very skeptical about the direct sales business model, but my sponsor explained the cost benefits of purchasing a starter kit, and how I could use the products to support a healthier immune system for my family, I decided to try it out. With two elementary-aged kids and a husband who worked as an elementary teacher, we needed all the help we could find to stay healthy!

Once I had the products in my hands, I fell in love with them. But what really convinced me was our incredible product education. We had a Facebook group and I spent a lot of time there learning about the products and how I could use them to help my family and to help others. When I started my own business, I expected to make a few hundred dollars and help to start paying off debt. I was surprised when my business began to take off! My clients were curious about the products and once they tried them, were inspired to start a business alongside me.

I hit the top rank in my company in 27 months, and after a year of doing this new business I was able to quit my previous job. I never thought I would give up my earlier career -- but I realized that I was put here on earth to help people, including my team, become the best version of themselves. I saw I could do this best in this new line of work.

Coaching Through Guided Imagery

Throughout my career in hypnotherapy, I helped people to understand the difference between the conscious and subconscious mind.

Our subconscious mind is much more powerful. This is the part of our brain that is repeating stories over and over -- and these stories guide our behavior and our beliefs.

This means that the negative stories we tell ourselves will always overrule the positive stories we try to absorb by reading or training. Until we can change the patterns of our subconscious, we won’t be able to overcome these mental blocks.

I use Guided Imagery for myself and my team to help change mental blocks to patterns of abundance. Guided Imagery is a technique of using the subconscious mind’s love for imagery and visualization to help rewire the brain and change these messages. It’s about refocusing on what you actually desire and changing the focus from what you don’t want to what you DO want.

By changing our language from “I can’t” or “I’m not” to “I am” or “I choose”, we can harness this energy and use the law of attraction to move in the direction we desire.

I pass these lessons on to my team -- about mindset and how to uncover blockages so that they can achieve success and abundance.

I see this in action most frequently when my team members have a conversation with a prospect. This is often one of the hardest things for a new business owner to do, and people feel uncomfortable or worry about coming across as “salesy”. So even if the conversation is friendly and positive, the teammate’s insecurity or fears will come through, even if only subconsciously, and this can influence their conversation with the prospect.

In order to help my team overcome this roadblock, I’ve developed exercises that help someone overcome this and move into a more positive mindset with guided imagery. If you’re interested in trying them out, they are adaptable to any business or company, and are free on my website.

Moving From Wellness To Direct Sales

Another subconscious message I see many people telling themselves is that they don’t have any training in sales. Many others are afraid to step away from a career they’ve spent years or decades building.

In my opinion, not having any experience in sales was never an issue. The way I see it, we’re here to be share-people -- not sales-people.

We are here to share our passion and the life-changing results we have seen with the products we sell - not to pressure people into buying something.

I choose to focus on our products and how life changing they can be. This perspective never makes me feel like I’m being "salesy" or chasing sales and helps me cultivate the positive and abundant energy from the start.

I teach my team to share authentically. Our approach is just to share information and lifestyle. When you connect with a prospect, hopefully they will see you using the products in your everyday life, so it becomes a genuine interaction about lifestyle, not a sales pitch.

I also look for the door to already be cracked open.

Many people think working in direct sales means you have to shove the door open. So many times, there is a crack there already and an opportunity for you to reach out, if you just look for it.

On that note, one of the things I find very helpful about Traktivity is that I didn’t realize how many people I still had in my “warm market”, who I hadn’t shared my love of these products with yet. Seeing all of my friends in one place reminded me of people I had forgotten to follow up with or talk with about my business. Traktivity also helps me maintain my awareness of my dream team; because even though I’ve reached a high level in my company, I’m still looking to grow and share. Traktivity helps me to build relationships with people I have missed, and to interact more with these dream team prospects so I know they will also see what I’m sharing about my own life on social media.

How To Get Started

Changing your mindset and adjusting the messages of your subconscious mind won’t happen overnight, but one of the best steps you can take for your business is to be aware of your thoughts and how you think of yourself as a leader in this business. You’ll be amazed at what can happen when you change a pattern of negative thought to empowered language, and how positive changes will trickle out into every part of your life and business.
