How is 2018 shaping up for you so far, TRAKstar? Are you staying on top of your goals, resolutions, or intentions and making incremental progress each day? Are you remembering to rely on your resources to help you succeed?

As you’re starting the year strong with big goals and big plans ahead of you, here’s a really important thing to remember.

You’re not doing this alone.

You’re not building in a vacuum. Many other smart, hardworking people have gone before you, whether they are members of your team or successful business leaders and entrepreneurs in other fields.

And whether we’re talking about business skills and motivation or just the everyday support to get things done, resources can look different depending on what you and your business need.

Your resource might be a babysitter who comes one day a month so you can do a deep-dive goal-setting session and do a lot of focused work that’s harder when you’re caring for your toddler.

Maybe it’s your feedback group of 2-3 close friends, who you can bounce ideas off of to make sure you’re staying on course and authentically pursuing your Why.

Traktivity is a key resource I use to stay on top of my daily to-do list and make sure I’m pursuing prospects and partners.

And for many people, myself included, the wise words of other successful leaders are a key resource. Each year, I read books, watch videos, and listen to presentations by leaders in their fields and people who are taking a step back to look at their life and work holistically.

Here are a few of my favorite resources:

Present Over Perfect,by Shauna Niequest

This is my favorite book of all time and the only book I can recall rereading. It's about trading in a frantic life for a simpler, more soulful way of living.  It's a collection of short essays and stories about her life and how she went from achieving, striving, and trying to prove herself to others, to loving the real her, being imperfect, focusing on the important things, and in the process sometimes disappointing the outer circle of people in her life. She writes about creating the life you actually want, not chasing what you’ve been taught to think is right. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, this is a great place to start. And it's’ a great reminder that, even if you’re finding some rejection as you reach out to hundreds of people in the process of building your business, ultimately all that matters is what you believe about yourself.

You Are a Badass, by Jen Sincero

A no-nonsense, hilarious book on how to get out of your own way. All entrepreneurs do this, myself included, and sometimes you need some frank language to encourage you to change self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors. If you’re working to build a life you love, this one is a must-read.

Get Over Your Damn Self, by Romi Neustadt

Romi is a total go-getter who has built a successful career in network marketing, shares her practical approach to how to grow a successful business by focusing on your posture, possibilities, and power.

Beach Money<, by Jordan Adler

Such a quick read, and it's all about network marketing and building a successful business by working hard and with a laser focus.  He talks about the how but also why it's worth it to work hard for a few years to create a life you love. If you need a shot of encouragement to keep your head down and charge forward, this is a great place to get some motivation!

Now it’s your turn, #TRAKstar!
